QUENET'S FIREARMS POLICY

Quenet's Hunting and Fishing Pty Ltd is a company established in South Africa and therefore is compliant with South Africa's Gun regulations and legislation.
South Africa's gun policy is governed by the Firearms Control Act (FCA), which was signed into law in 2001. The FCA establishes that gun ownership is a privilege, not a right, and includes the following regulations:
AgeApplicants must be at least 21 years old, though there is no age limit if the applicant can demonstrate a need
Criminal recordApplicants cannot have a criminal record or history of substance abuse, violence, or negligent handling of a firearm
Background checksApplicants must pass background checks conducted by the police Competency testsApplicants must pass competency tests relating to firearm safety and knowledge of the relevant laws
Number of firearmsA maximum of four firearms can be possessed, and a maximum of 200 rounds of ammunition per license
Dedicated statusIf an applicant is a member of a registered shooting club or hunting association, they can theoretically license an unlimited number of firearms
Firearm Free ZonesPublic spaces, like schools, can be declared as Firearm Free Zones License renewalGun owners must renew their gun license regularly
ReportingIf someone knows of an unlawful firearm or ammunition in the possession of another person, they must report it to the police immediately
Serial numberIf a firearm's serial number or mark has been erased, tampered with, or become illegible, the owner must notify the Registrar The application process for a gun license includes filling out forms, providing personal details, and providing sworn declarations.
